Helicopter Rescue Awareness / Helicopter Air Sea Rescue

This Specialty Course is designed to provide recreational and professional divers with awareness of sea survival techniques, and helicopter rescue recovery of divers. Divers will experience in-water demonstrations of survival techniques used when lost at sea, finishing with a helicopter rescue recovery of the diving group.

Course Duration:

  • 1 Day practical & Theory

Course Criteria & Objectives:

  • Demonstrate sea survival techniques and undertake helicopter rescue / recovery of diving group.

Certifications:

  • PADI, SSI, or NAUI, Specialty Diver Certification

  • This course also covers the requirements for AQTF certified;
  • PUAFIR209A – Work safely around aircraft; and
  • PUAFIR211A – Undertake helicopter winch operations
  • Ask our staff if you require recognition of these additional courses

Group Sizes:

  • Group bookings available and can be scheduled for any available dates. Minimum group size 10 divers, maximum 20 divers per course.

Pre-requisites:

  • - PADI Certifications require Rescue Diver level or above.
  • - SSI & NAUI certifications require Advanced Open Water Diver level.

What you need:

  • - swimmers, towel, diver card and log book.
  • - B.Y.O. Snorkel gear or with BCD only. If required, ask on booking for gear hire.

Additional Information:

  • In addition to your diver certification, the course counts towards your Master scuba diver rating (PADI) and you are awarded credits towards the professional Helicopter Aircrew Officer qualification.
